Mr. Tolve serves as White Oak’s Deputy General Counsel. He handles a broad array of legal matters, including with respect fund formation, fund governance, tax, and litigation. Mr. Tolve joins White Oak from Silver Lake Technology Management, where he served in the legal and compliance group. Prior to Silver Lake, he spent over 10 years in private practice, most recently with Ropes & Gray, where he focused on regulatory, compliance, and litigation matters involving private fund clients within the credit, hedge, private equity, and venture capital space. He began his career with Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe, where he practiced securities litigation and regulatory enforcement. Prior to law school, Mr. Tolve worked in international tax, including transfer pricing. He holds a J.D. from U.C. Davis School of Law (Order of the Coif), a Bachelor of Arts in Economics and History from Colby College (Phi Beta Kappa), and earned the right to use the CFA designation in 2006.
