David Lynn

Prior to joining White Oak MOB REIT as President and Chief Investment Officer, Dr. Lynn was Chairman, CEO and founder of Everest Healthcare Properties, LLC where managed the overall firm’s activities including investment strategy, sourcing, research, acquisitions, underwriting, equity and debt financing, portfolio management, leasing, repositioning/value-add activities and financial reporting. He built the AUM to $300 million on institutional quality medical buildings in eleven states, achieved well-above benchmark returns and sold the firm to a major multinational public corporation. Prior to founding Everest, Lynn was Executive Vice President, Chief Investment Strategist and Chief Economist at Cole Investments, CCPT III, Cole Net Lease REIT II, Cole Net Lease III and Cole Office & Industrial REIT. He managed the firm’s $12 billion dollar investments including acquisitions and portfolio management. Dr. Lynn was a Partner and Managing Director at ING Clarion Partners, where he was Head of Investment Strategy and Research, leading the firm’s strategic and tactical investment decisions. He advised on the Lion Properties Fund, the Lion Industrial Trust, Gables REIT, The Lion Development Fund, and separate accounts. He served on the Investment Committee, Operating Committee and the Global Asset Allocation Committee. ING Clarion became a top-quartile performer under Dr. Lynn’s leadership. Prior to ING Clarion, Lynn was Head of Strategy for AIG Global Real Estate, where he led real estate investment strategy around the world. He ran multifamily development for AvalonBay in Northern California, where he developed multifamily apartment communities. He was Head of Regional Investments for the Keppel Corporation where he acquired, developed and managed multi-family housing, office buildings, medical buildings, mixed-use and retail in Asia and the U.K. Dr. Lynn was a national development manager with the Target Corporation, developing retail around the US, responsible for all phases of development and achieving numerous company awards for excellence. Dr. Lynn was a Professor of Professional Practice at the WP Carey School of Business, Arizona State University, awarded the Counselor of Real Estate designation, named Sloan Fellow by the MIT Sloan School of Business, named a Homer Hoyt Fellow, and a recipient of many awards including, most recently, “Best Equity Deal of 2019” awarded by Real Estate Finance and Investment. He is the author of six highly-acclaimed investment and real estate books used by the industry and universities around the world, and numerous articles. He was the former editor of Real Estate Issues.

Dr. Lynn is also known for sharing his macroeconomic and real estate insights at investment industry events and in the media. He has provided commentary for prominent financial news outlets, most notably The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, Fortune, TheStreet, GlobeStreet, and National Real Estate Investor

Dr. Lynn holds a Ph.D. and Master of Science in Financial Economics, with Distinction, from the London School of Economics, a Master of Business Administration (MBA), Sloan Fellow, from the Sloan School of Management at MIT, a Master of Art in Urban Planning and Real Estate from Cornell University, and a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from the University of California at Berkeley.
